Senior Pastor Phil Rhoades

In 1961, Pastor Phil was born in Springfield, Missouri.  He has been married to his wife Rhonda since June of 1983. They have four children: Danielle, Amber, Jacob, and Kaitlyn.   Pastor Phil became the pastor of the Garnett Church of the Nazarene on June 12, 1988.  Since Pastor Phil has been here at Garnett, he has led us through eight constructions and renovation periods.  Additionally, the church has grown from a membership of below 20 to over 200 in worship attendance.  He has served us faithfully for 17 years and we are most grateful to God for all He has helped us accomplish.

Pastor Phil was ordained on August 9, 1990, from the Joplin District Assembly, Church of the Nazarene.  For the Joplin district, he has served as Nazarene Youth International President, on the General Finance Committee, and on the District Advisory Board. Additionally, he has served as Small Church Institute Director and has been an active member in the community-wide Garnett Area Ministerial Alliance. In 2004, he started serving on the Board of Trustees for Mid America Nazarene University.
