What should I expect?
You are invited to join us for the services at the Garnett Church of the Nazarene. If you would like to visit for the first time, we suggest you try Sunday morning worship. We want you to feel comfortable when you visit so here's what you can expect in a typical Sunday service.

Music - We have a praise team with instrumental accompaniment which leads our 10 a.m. Worship service. We also have a choir each Sunday during the school year. We usually begin by spending a few minutes singing as a congregation.

Music at the Garnett Church of the Nazarene is a mixture of contemporary Christian songs combined with some standard and best-loved hymns of the church. The words are always shown on the screen and the congregation is encouraged to sing along.

Friendship in Worship - One of the members of the congregation will greet the congregation and then ask everyone to say hello to those around them and perhaps introduce themselves to someone they haven't met before. If you are visiting, you can count on meeting some regular attendees this way.

Family Altar - This is a regular part of our service where we emphasis prayer and the needs of our congregation. We always allow the congregation to come to the altar during this time to pray for their needs.

Offering - We collect an offering to support the work of our church as well as missions work in our country and around the world. This portion of the service is intended only for those who consider Garnett Church of the Nazarene as their "church home". Guests are not expected to contribute.

Special Music - We will usually have some special music from the choir or perhaps from a member of the choir before the sermon.

Sermon - Our senior pastor will give a Bible-based sermon. Often times, the service ends in prayer or another song.

What should I wear?
Dress - As for what to wear, ours is a casual atmosphere, you are always welcome in our worship service no matter what you wear. Most people wear business casual clothes: dresses or dress pants for women, open-collared shirts, ties are not necessary for men. Some people come wearing their Sunday best while others attend in more casual work type attire. Some people wear shorts and flip-flops. Please wear whatever you feel most comfortable wearing.

What does Garnett Church of the Nazarene offer for my kids?
Currently, we offer a full Children's Church program during the worship experience for kids 4 years old through 3rd grade in one group, and 4th-6th grade in another group. The kids are dismissed usually at the beginning of the service, right after announcements are given. We also have special activities for our children on Wednesday evenings beginning at 7 pm.

The teens worship together with the adults during the morning service in the sanctuary. On Wednesday evenings the teens have a special youth service.

A staffed nursery is also available for toddlers and infants. Your children will be in good hands, and will be cared for week after week by a consistent team of volunteers.

In addition to this time, we have Sunday School classes for all ages- nursery through adults, meeting weekly at 9 AM.

Services here are designed to be worshipful, community-building experiences that make it possible for all of us to have an encounter with God. We look forward to having you with us soon.
